About Hasilpur

Hasilpur comes under District of BAHAWALPUR. According to official
figures, population of Hasilpur in 1998 was 3,12,132 with 38,568 households of
which 10,625 were in urban areas and 36,961 in rural. Hasilpur occupies 1372
sq. km area including city and 115 surrounding villages. People in Hasilpur
speaks PUNJABI and SERAIKA. Small towns around Hasilpur can be divided into two
parts for their languages. Towns towards MULTAN
and BAHAWALPUR
speaks Seraiki and towns toward BAHAWALNAGAR speaks Punjabi. Hasilpur attracts
these people for being the local market for both business and personal needs.
Both languages are common for communication in city. Hasilpur city itself is
divided in to two parts, Old Hasilpur and Hasilpur MANDDI. Main shopping
centres and markets are situated in Hasilpur Manddi. The word MANDDI
means market, this part of city was propably called so for having the oldest
market known as RAILWAY BAZAR and the Grain Market.
According to the figures government holds, there are 8 hospitals
in Hasilpur. 1 of these runs under government's health services and rest are
private registered. Total number of beds in these hospitals is 142. Apart from
this 19 private clinics are also registered with government. There are 30
cotton ginning, 2 vegetable ghee, 22 brick kilns, 3 wheat milling and 33 other
small and large industries in Hasilpur. For living, a huge part of population
rely on agriculture directly or indirectly. Second largest occupation is labour
and retail thereafter.
